Hajime Rising Controls

Hajime Rising controls: left and right punches, middle click lock-on, Z X C punch types, T stance switch, E and R skill moves and the M menu.

Hajime Rising controls are short and easy to learn: two mouse buttons throw your punches, a third locks on, and a handful of keys switch punch types, stances and skill moves. This Roblox boxing game is in alpha and is not the manga or anime Hajime no Ippo, so everything below comes from the developer's own game description. If you are brand new, read the Hajime Rising beginner guide first and then come back here.

Hajime Rising Controls: Every Key

The developer lists these inputs on the game's Roblox page. Nothing else is published, so if a key is not in the table further down, it is not documented yet. The game page itself shows no update notes, so a key could change in a future Hajime Rising update.

Punching And Lock-On

The Hajime Rising controls for punching are two mouse buttons. Left click throws a left-handed punch and right click throws a right-handed punch. That is the whole answer to how to punch: pick a hand and click.

Middle click is lock on. Locking on keeps your fighter pointed at your opponent while you move around, which helps in a fast exchange. One guide also says lock-on is needed before skill moves will fire, but the developer does not say so, so treat that as unconfirmed.

Where your punch lands depends on where you look. Look up to aim at the head and look down to aim at the body. The full breakdown is on the Hajime Rising punch types page.

Switching Punch Types

You do not throw a different punch with a different button. Instead, Z switches you to jabs, X switches you to hooks and C switches you to uppercuts. After you switch, your left and right clicks throw that punch type with the matching hand.

Stances, Skill Moves And The Menu

T switches between your primary and secondary boxing stance, and you can do it mid-fight. The two slots are explained on the Hajime Rising stances page.

E and R trigger the two skill moves you have equipped. What those moves are, how you unlock them and what they do is not published by a named source.

M opens the main menu and controls screen. It is also where you enter promo codes under Codes, once you have finished or skipped the tutorial. We keep the current list on the Hajime Rising codes page, and codes from other games such as Anime Rising do not work here. If one is rejected, check Hajime Rising codes not working.

Hajime Rising Controls FAQ

Does the game have mobile controls?

The developer has not published mobile controls. The inputs above are written for a mouse and keyboard, and guides disagree on whether the game plays the same on mobile, so check the M menu on your own device.

Can I rebind keys?

No rebinding option is published for the Hajime Rising controls. Press M in game to see whether the controls screen offers any settings, and stick to the default keys listed here until the developer says otherwise.

How do I lock on?

Press the middle mouse button while facing your opponent. The developer's description lists this as lock on and does not give a range or a release key.

Do Z, X and C throw punches?

No, they switch your punch type to jab, hook or uppercut. The punch itself is thrown with left or right click.
